With their passion for introducing oriental cuisine, as well as local specialties, to the world, The Au Co Cruises team was excited to have the opportunity to accompany Chef Martin Yan on his journey to discover the taste of Halong Bay.
The Au Co Cruises warmly welcome international volunteers to participate in “Action for Halong Bay” work camp. This project aims at raising awareness of environmental issues through organizing practical and meaningful activities for Vietnamese and international volunteers. The campaign runs from the 12th to the 19th January 2013 and attracts around 120 volunteers from over 30 countries.
Urgent measures to be taken by the local authorities include banning the handling of cargo in bulk in the area and treating wastewater and sewage discharged into the bay. These measures will be implemented by 2013. They will also closely monitor companies involved in industrial production and urban projects, and raise public awareness around environmental protection.
Following its commitment to sustainable development in the area, Bhaya Cruises and Action For Halong Bay organized a massive Halong Bay beach cleanup campaign from 12 to 19 January. The event was joined by 150 volunteers from more than 30 countries and more than 50 staffs from Bhaya Cruises.
